During the summers and off time I have babysat for neighbors, family friends, and others who had been recommended me. A few skills I have learned over these experiences include:

• Watching over multiple children at once
• Multitasking
• Communicating with adults as well as children
• Cleaning and tidying up
• Time management
• Planning and scheduling

During my senior year of high school, I was asked by my ASL teacher to tutor students who were in their first year of ASL. I worked with 1-3 students each week, depending on their schedules, to help them review work they were going over in class to make they were comprehending the information. Some skills I learn from my experience were:

• Planning topics to go over
• Reviewing materials to be prepared
• Communicating skills to teachers and students
• Patience and positivity with students
• Growing confidence in my own skills

During the summers for three years, I worked with kids from the age of 5-7 as a Counselor-in-Training. Every weekday I would help watch the kids, keep them involved, create activities, and grow connections with them. Some of the many skills I learned from this experience include:

• Time management and flexibility
• Behavior management
• Creativity
• Lesson planning and instructions
• Teamwork
