Shatha Waqqad

I have been working as a caregiver (מטפלת) in a nursing home (בית אבות) where I provide daily care to elderly patients. During this time, I improved my Hebrew language skills and gained valuable hands-on experience by working closely with the nursing staff. I assisted with wound care, administer normal saline subcutaneously to patients and take close look to various commercial medications.

Palestinian Medical Students' Association, a youth association which endeavor to create own medical society by sharing experience, giving opportunities, presenting lectures and many more in SCOPE, SCOPH, SCORA, SCORE, and SCORP.

Dr. Osama Shamiya gave me the chance to watch vaginal uretrocele surgeries while I visited at Diakonie Klinikum Jung-Stilling in Siegen. I went to his private clinic after the surgeries, where I learned a lot about performing ultrasound imaging, breast exams, prenatal care follow-ups, and Pap smear tests. I was able to enhance my clinical proficiency in a range of diagnostic techniques and broaden my knowledge of women's health as a result of this experience.

I engaged for Klinikum Westfalen in Germany for two weeks as a clinical intern in the orthopedic department and one week in the general surgery department. I've observed significant orthopedic procedures, such as total hip replacement, total knee replacement, proximal and distal radius fractures, scaphoid fractures, clavicle fractures, and diabetic foot debridement. In general surgery, I took part in operations like gallbladder and appendectomy. In addition, I gained expertise managing a wide range of situations by assisting in outpatient clinics and the emergency department.

Attended 2 days conference where many obstetric and gynecologic subjects were presented like vaginal birth after cs, management of major hemorrhage, fetal growth restriction care, and updates of endometriosis.

I trained 3 sutures techniques (simple, vertical mattress and horizontal mattress) for 6 hours on artificial skins practice suturing a year after in Al- Hussein hospital

Worked as designer and organizer to our community center, I was planning out the days and times of each course and making sure that the necessary supplies-such as basketballs, paintbrushes, and gym attire-are available. additionally, planned significant day activities such as religious ceremonies and the beginning of the school year.
