Working in a dealership has helped me develop my communication and team work skills over the past several years. A big part of my job is communication. Keeping customers informed and updated , as well as communication with technicians and the parts department is the most important aspect of my day to day responsibilities. Daily I provide follow up calls to my customers informing them on the status of their vehicles and estimated time of arrival for parts if required. I follow up with parts through the internal messaging system and obtain updated estimated time of arrival on any ordered parts. I speak with technicians working on repairs for me daily getting updates on the progress and completion, especially on the bigger jobs like engines, which we see a lot of at Hyundai.
Being a leader and helping people to learn and grow is very important to me. It was not so long ago that my first parts manager took me in and taught me everything he knew and without that knowledge and training I would not be where I am today. Taking over as manager myself allowed me to do the same for others. The first employee I trained is now a service manager at Happy Hyundai of Libertyville. I believe given the right tools anyone can do well and excel. I multi-task very well, so a fast-paced demanding job is just perfect for me.
