Kent Consulting Engineers is an engineering firm specializing in the renovation and upgrade of MEP systems in existing buildings for new and existing tenants. As an Engineering Assistant, I supported engineers with basic design and drafting tasks for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, assisted with plan updates and revisions, and performed general technical and administrative support work throughout the design process.

• Updated and cleaned up existing drawings to prepare them for engineering review and design revisions, ensuring files were current, organized, and usable for ongoing projects
• Incorporated engineer markups and redlines into drawings, revising plan sets to reflect design changes and maintain accuracy throughout project updates
• Created and formatted drawing sheets and templates for new projects, setting up layouts, title blocks, and documentation standards
• Assisted with basic design work for HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and electrical lighting layouts under the direction of licensed engineers
• Performed general technical and administrative support tasks, including document organization, file management, and project setup to support design workflows
• Worked in team-based project environments, coordinating with engineers and other staff to ensure drawings were consistent and met project requirements

The Village of Glen Ellyn Public Works Department maintains the community’s infrastructure, public spaces, and streets to ensure safety and functionality. I worked in the Forestry Department, which oversees downtown trees, parks, and certain street elements. In this role, I assisted the team with daily maintenance and field operations, contributing to the care and upkeep of public areas while learning to work in a crew environment.

• Watered and maintained public plants and landscaping in downtown areas and parks.

• Operated mowers, trimmers, and other small power equipment.

Debbie’s Daycare provides care and early learning for children of various ages. As a Daycare Assistant, I supported the daily care of multiple children, including babies, helping with routines, activities, and supervision.
