- I make sure they get their medicine that they need to take daily.
- Helps people with disabilities to gain fundamental needs, like instructing them how to shower alone, make food, etc.
- Build personal connections with each resident or guest.
- Offer emotional support and have one-on-one conversations when needed.
- Help handle personal or social crises.
- Promote values like responsibility, independence, and cooperation.
- Facilitate group sessions, educational activities, and personal development.
- Report regularly to a multidisciplinary team (social workers, therapists, etc.)
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Coordinate with other counselors, hostel managers, and external professionals.
- Share insights and updates on residents’ progress.
- Clearly explain and enforce hostel policies and rules.
- Handle discipline and behavioral issues.
- Report unusual or serious incidents.
