  • CONTRACT 62P06 CULVERT REPAIRS at I-55 and SAWMILL CREEKM ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION The work under this contract consisted of box culvert end replacement, structural repairs of box culvert, full depth HMA removal and replacement, pipe culvert replacement, new inlets and end sections, permanent sheet piling , steel plate beam guardrail and fence installation. My roles included overseeing of all on-site construction activities, ensured contractor followed plans, measured and calculated all activities for payment, kept track of force account activities. Project cost $1.4 Million
  • CONTRACT 62R40 CURVE CORRECTION ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION The work under this contract included 803 ft of curve correction, earth excavation, removal and construction of pipe culvert and drainage structures, pavement removal and full depth HMA pavement reconstruction and widening, channelization with thermoplastic pavement markings, guardrail installation and fence removal and installation. My roles included overseeing of all on-site construction activities, ensured contractor followed plans, measured and calculated all activities for payment, delegated tasks to team members, and kept track of force account activities and updating IDOT CMMS with all materials and inspector daily reports for generation of pay estimates. Project cost $700,000
  • CONTRACT SCC-2023-01 CHICAGO SKYWAY TOLL BRIDGE The work under this contract consisted of bridge deck hydroscarification, full and partial depth repairs, latex concrete overlay, bridge expansion joint replacement and mill and repave transition pavement on 8 of the Skyway overpasses. My roles included overseeing of all on-site construction activities, ensured contractor followed plans, measured and calculated all activities for payment, delegated tasks to team members, and kept track of force account activities. Project cost $5.5 Million.

    REHABILITATION
    TRI-STATE TOLLWAY (I-294)
    WOLF ROAD TO BALMORAL AVENUE The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to mainline pavement rehabilitation and widening, mainline pavement reconstruction and widening;
    reconstruction of the mainline median barrier, inside and outside shoulders; deck repairs, joint replacements and overlay for the I-294 bridges over the Bensenville Yard (SN 397 & 396) along with substructure rehabilitation, superstructure repairs and replacement of approach and transitions slabs; construction of retaining walls, retaining walls with moment slabs, moment slabs on existing retaining walls, moment slabs on grade and contractor designed noise abatement walls (structure mounted); substructure rehabilitation and slope wall replacement for the Wolf Road Bridge over I-294 (BN 289); box culvert patching and pressure injection repairs at Silver Creek; highway and bridge drainage improvements; Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) infrastructure; temporary and permanent lighting systems; signing and pavement markings; erosion control measures and landscaping improvements; maintenance of traffic operations; and all miscellaneous, appurtenant and other work necessary to complete the project
    as contained in the contract documents. My roles included Materials Coordination, scheduling QA inspectors for testing of onsite materials, writing ATP's and Change Order/Extra Work Orders and construction inspection. Project Cost $65 Million.

    (I-90) AT IL RT 47 Mile Post 46.4 The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to Filling wet and dry Detention Pond 2 between Ramp F and Ramp E infield area. Modifications to existing Detention Pond 1, including partially filling permanent wet and expanding dry detention area. Ramp E outside shoulder removals. Ramp E improvements: increasing width of left shoulder Cleaning of existing underdrains under Ramp E. Cleaning culverts under Ramp E and Ramp F. New detention outlet control structure installation. Lighting modifications along Ramp E. Landscape and soil erosion/sedimentation control measures, topsoil and seeding. Pavement markings and signage installation/relocation. Maintenance of traffic. My role on this project was Resident Engineer. Project Cost $1.8 Million.

    RAMP M – MILE POST 29.1 The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to Roadway reconstruction. Bridge rehabilitation. BN 201, Ramp M over I-294 BN 213, Cermak Road (22nd Street) over Ramp M and Ramp N BN 273, Ramp M over I-88 BN 279, York Road over Ramp M and Ramp N BN 299, Windsor Drive over Ramp M and Ramp N Erosion Control for all construction zones. Landscape and soil erosion/sedimentation measures Installation of ITS components Installation of roadway lighting Pavement markings, delineators and signage. Maintenance of traffic. Protection of utilities. All other appurtenant and miscellaneous items. My roles on this contract were Materials Coordinator and Field Inspector. Project cost $16.4 Million.
  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): US 12 Resurfacing
    Construction Inspector for 4.17 miles of resurfacing between Ela Rd and Lake Cook Rd. Project scope included HMA patching, milling, HMA binder and surface courses, ADA compliant sidewalks, subbase replacement, rumble strips, detector loops, curb and gutters, grading and shaping shoulders, rumble strips, landscaping and thermoplastic pavement marking. My roles included overseeing of all on-site construction activities, ensured contractor followed plans, measured and calculated all activities for payment, delegated tasks to team members, and kept track of force account activities. Project cost was $5.6 million.
  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): Various Expressway Patching Inspector
    Construction Inspector for the intermittent resurfacing for numerous state maintained southern expressways in Cook and Will Counties. The project scope included milling, HMA patching, HMA surface course, detector loop replacement, electric cable installation, and thermoplastic pavement marking. Project cost was $572,000.
  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): US 34 over Cress Creek Culvert Repair- Inspector
    Construction Inspector for the replacement of the culvert wing walls on US 34 over Cress Creek. The project scope included earth excavation, furnished excavation, reinforcement bars, concrete structures, landscape restoration and ADA compliant sidewalks. Project cost was $55,000.
  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): IL 62 Resurfacing Inspector
    Construction Inspector for the resurfacing of IL 62 between IL 31 and Countryside Drive. The project scope included milling, HMA pavement patching, polymerized HMA binder and surface courses, special waste disposal, ADA compliant sidewalks and pavement marking. Project cost was $981,000.
  • Illinois State Toll Highway Authority: Salt Barn Replacement and Salt Dome Repairs Inspector
    Project scope included constructing a salt barn, demolition of existing structures, detention pond, storm sewers, HMA parking lot, lighting, structural repairs, subgrade preparation, shingle tear off and replacement, and establishing temporary and permanent erosion control measures. Michael was responsible for eBuilder project documentation, submittal and RFI review, leading project meetings, staff management, change order generation, and project close out.
  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): IL 59 Resurfacing Inspector
    Construction Inspector for the resurfacing of .43 miles of IL 59 between Aurora Ave and McCoy Drive. The project scope included milling, full depth HMA patching, polymerized HMA binder and surface, longitudinal joint sealing, curb and gutter replacement, detector loop replacement, raised reflective pavement markers, and thermoplastic pavement marking. Project cost was $626,000.
  • Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT): Community Infrastructure Contracts Program (CIC) Materials Coordinator
    Material coordination of residential construction for the 2016 CDOT CIC Program Areas 6, 7, & 8 working as a subconsultant to AECOM. Responsibilities include layout of plan limits, documentation of construction inspection, review of completed site for acceptance, punch list review, finalize closeout documentation, and generation of as-builts for over 200 work orders that included construction activities such as, sidewalk removal and replacement, asphalt milling and replacement, concrete curb and gutter removal and replacement, Portland Cement Concrete pavement removal and replacement, installation of drainage structures and drainage pipe for green alley construction, and brick paver alley construction.
  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): IL-31 at IL-176 and Terra Cotta Ave. Materials Coordinator/Field Inspector
    The intersection improvements at IL-31 at IL-176 and Terra Cotta Ave included pavement reconstruction along IL-31, IL-176, and Terra Cotta Avenue to accommodate two through lanes, dual left turn lanes, and exclusive right turn lanes on four legs of the intersection. Traffic signals were modernized at the intersection. The horizontal alignment of IL 176 was placed on a curve to eliminate the existing 45-degree turn at the intersection. A cul-de-sac was constructed on Terra Cotta Avenue to re-route traffic on the east leg of IL 176 and Smith Road to reach the residential area immediately east of IL 31. Michael provided materials coordination and field inspection, overseeing and reviewing tests and test data on all materials testing of the subbase, HMA, and Portland Cement Concrete.

This project reconstructed nine miles of US Route 30 and included the addition of new traffic lanes and the installation of a concrete median. Michael served as materials coordinator for this project.


Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): Edens Expressway Pavement Patching Materials Coordinator
Materials coordinator for this pavement patching project, which also included pavement overlay along the Edens Expressway.


Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT): Bridge Reconstruction over I-57 Materials Coordinator
This project reconstructed the 103rd, 111th, 112th, 115th, and 125th Street Bridges over I-57. Michael served as materials coordinator for this project.
