Women's Ministry Director, Volunteer

  • Teamwork: Organized the leadership structure for the women's ministry. Led women's leaderships teams to create broader care for the women on our campus. Engaged in the all campus Directors team led by Stephany Geisler, Lynne Tellschow, and Beth Freeman.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Identified and recruited potential volunteers for small group leadership, monthly breakfasts, yearly retreats and other events that come through the ministry year.
  • Leading Leaders: Trained, provided a support structure, and supervised small group leaders and coaches. Planned and implemented the coaching oversight of small groups. Established regular teaching opportunities for women on our campus. Worked with the pastor to train women as teachers and to give them better support.
  • Event Organization: Organized and Taught the following Women's HBC CL retreats: 2025 - Abide (90 women); 2024 - Called to Be (80 women); and 2023 - Harmony (70 women). Established summer events arranged by volunteers to help women to find community.
  • Engaging Gifts & Skills: Meet with and help women find their engagement in the church, equip them with their gifting and help them to find their calling from the Lord.
  • Post COVID: Re-established onsite women's ministry post the 2020 closure of the church, including the planning and implementing on site, campus groups.

  • Leadership of the homeschool support group, Barrington Area Homeschoolers with an membership ranging from 100 to 150 families and including up to 600 members with the students that engaged in the field trips.
  • Organized monthly support meetings with insightful teaching to homeschoolers, devotionals, and opportunity to engage with homeschool parents.
  • Oversight on the 100 plus events including educational, service and social field trips that happened throughout the year. Oversight of monthly support meetings for the home educator. Lastly, oversight on the team ran, four annual events to engage the students. As well as interaction with the insurance.
  • Led and taught at events to support and encourage homeschooling. Led the team that ran the details and particular events including quarterly newsletters and updates to families. Engaged our group in FB and other online help for events. Led the navigation of the 2020 shut down for this group and helped equip these families as the local requirements changed and in light of the diverse responses to COVID.

  • Organized, led and hosted weekly Bible studies with prayer and accountability. Hosted monthly fellowship nights.
  • Engaged with the 5 to 28 members on a weekly basis outside of small group and helped them to engage with each other, the church, their gifting, and to grow in their faith with God.
  • Chose quarterly studies that would engage the people in the group and implemented them. Also, helped others to become small group leaders as God led them by giving opportunities to lead, figure out the processes, and share their gifting.
  • Engaged monthly with coaches to better increase understanding between leadership and the people in the church.

  • Designed site layout and utilities for multiple projects including re-routing Lake Shore Drive, the Amazon Rising addition to the Shedd Aquarium, the eastern addition to the Field Museum, numerous Chicago Public School system properties, and other jobs for architects.
  • Met with City of Chicago for permitting and architects for various changes and needs as they came up. Interacted with codes and material classifications for different counties as needed.
  • Managed 15 to 20 projects at a time in various states of construction. Monitored execution of contract work for compliance with design plans and specifications. Fluency in AutoCAD, Microsoft products, and a quick study in other interactive programming.
