Participate in the development, administration, and monitoring of programs, policies, goals, and departmental objectives and ensure consistency in interpretation. Develop methods to improve department workflow and processes. Oversee payroll and other HR functions of the department and supervise the preparation and processing of personnel documents including grievance responses. Coordinate department projects, correspond with our internal and external customers to create Service Bulletins to give our customers and Bus Operators advance notice of bus detours throughout the city for street projects, emergencies, and minor/major city events. Monitor and evaluate the performance of both bargained for employees and non-bargained for employees to ensure fair contract and company policies are being adhered to. Monitor violations of rules, regulations, and operating procedures of both bargained for and non-bargained for personnel and determine the appropriate disciplinary action when warranted.

Assign Supervisors to respond to service interruptions or delays impacting Bus Operations. Monitor and evaluate the performance of real-time service reliability problems. Communicate with Supervisors on work progress and assist in resolving complex problems that could impact bus service restoration. Supervise Bus Shuttles during Rail Emergencies and make sure buses are in place and that rail customers are properly informed on alternate routes. Brief the rail customers in a timely manner during unplanned Street Closures, Reroutes, Parades, Protests, or inclement Weather. Take the lead to advise and instruct Supervisory personnel on where to go, what areas to station the buses, and what buses should be utilized in order to ensure that service delays are kept to a minimum. Investigate and incident and incident that occur on the buses in real-time and determine the higher course of action to take. Liaise between the CTA and OEMC during city-wide emergencies when needed. Emergency Operations Command Post was activated. Worked with multiple agencies such as CPD, CFD, the National Guard, and the Illinois State Police to keep them updated on ridership and any incident that occurred in public transportation and ensure the safety of all transit vehicles during crisis situations such as civil unrest, rioting, and large protests that interrupt the flow of traffic.
