- Obtained experience in a microbiology laboratory setting, working with and shadowing scientists to learn about how to do quality control of vitamins and other ingredients for human consumption
- During this internship I was able to conduct my own small research project where I tested how much bacteria is removed with antimicrobial mats that were reusable rather than tearing away multiple sheets of antimicrobial mats
- This lab was based in a manufacturing facility, part of QC to make sure that the supplements that were produced in the facility had no contamination of any sorts
- Took part in testing the facilities water to make sure there were no contaminations in the water daily and test for allergens in machinery
- Obtained lots of pipet skills, basic laboratory skills, as well as data entry handiness
