Summary of Role

The Program Coordinator supports the development and implementation of HPP’s programming slate from ideation through execution. The coordinator is vital to managing cross-team communications including front of house, outreach and partnerships, marketing and communications, and technical production areas of the organization. Finally, this role supports communication and workflow of knowledge documented through the Chicago Black Social Culture Map, working closely with the archiving manager, archiving advisory, marketing and communications, and production teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with program, marketing, and engagement teams on program outlines and scopes.
  • Support program team with selection of guest talent and curators for live programs.
  • Coordinate collection of relevant biographical and archival content shared by talent for events.
  • Liaise with talent to confirm participation and provide day-of-event coordination.
  • Coordinate paperwork/payment, technology needs, and supporting data collection/audience input.
  • Work with Hospitality Coordinator to support live programs implementation, including volunteers, catering/food, and front of house support
  • Support data collection efforts with Community Engagement and Partnerships Consultant.
  • For Chicago Black Social Culture Map programs, work with Archive and Research Manager to support coordination for event content processing that will be part of archival content creation.

The Parent Liaison role is to create programming, organize workshops, and find resources in the community to increase parental involvement to support student success. They also help with facilitating communication and trust between parents, teachers, and the school's administration team.
