  • Responsible for the regulatory compliance for the various affordable housing programs governing the properties owned and managed by UPA, LLC, and our third-party clients in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.
  • Responsible for all compliance reporting to tax credit investors and annual owners’ certification reporting to state and federal agencies throughout the credit period for applicable projects.
  • Work collaboratively with syndicators on new construction projects through the placed-in-service date to the credit delivery period, including NEF, Enterprise, Hunt Capital, and CREA.
  • Oversee staff to ensure initial files meet qualified occupancy with the state oversight agencies, and the project meets compliance requirements throughout the affordability period.
  • Ensure all communications from oversight agencies are shared with staff to remain abreast of any changes in the affordability program governing their respective properties.
  • Monitor and Track compliance with state Management Systems (DMS) required for Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
  • Ensure staff follow procedures applicable to their projects, adhere successfully to funding requirements, and maintain certifications needed to operate successfully and meet State and Federal agency requirements.
