Care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses within a Level 1 Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke center

• Deliver nursing care for critically ill patients with diagnoses including stroke, trauma, acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, and shock states
• Provide nursing care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and invasive monitoring devices such as EVDs, lumbar drains, central lines, and arterial lines
• Titration of medications such as vasopressors, vasodilators, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, analgesics, sedatives, anticoagulants, and insulin
• Provide detail oriented patient care, performed assessments, and implement foundational elements of ICU nursing care
• Assist with bedside procedures including rapid sequence intubation, bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, central line placement, arterial line placement, and thoracentesis to ensure timely interventions
• Recognize changes in neurological status, hemodynamic instability, cardiac rhythms, and respiratory conditions
• Collaboration with ICU physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to determine appropriate interventions for patients
• Advocate for patients and families to ensure they are informed in plan of care and supported during times of vulnerability
