UCSF Academic Research Associate (Fall 2019)

  • Assisted various Principal Investigators in eight different clinical trials taking place at Community Regional Medical Center Fresno, CA.
  • Screened patients for trials and enrolled them after receiving consent and assisted in sample collection if applicable.
  • Kept clinical trial paper work up to date after communicating with the principal investigators.

California State University, Fresno DPT program Parkinson's disease research volunteer (2018)

  • Assisted CSU Fresno's Doctorate of Physical Therapy students and Dr. Rivera in the use of yoga and exercise coordination programs to reduce both resting and action tremors and improve overall quality of life in Parkinson's patients.
  • Assisted with the instruction and organization of the study participants as they moved through the various stations in the study.
  • Learned how to set up and run study participants through a Bertec® dynamic posturography program.
  • Helped with initial and final data collection of study participants for fall and spring '18 semesters.

Premier Pathology Laboratories, Inc. Internship (Summer 2015)

Volunteer Work

Sequoia Riverlands Trust (2018- 2024)

  • Worked on preserving the striped adobe lily for the past five years and have surveyed roughly 300+ flowers over that time.
  • During the fall season I work on maintaining the Kaweah Oaks Preserve by cleaning trails and removing debris.

Haiti medical mission trip (2018)

  • Spent one week in the beautiful country of Haiti assisting physicians and DO/MD medical students in providing medical assistance to local residents.
  • Helped triage, organize and distribute medicine and educated residents of Verrettes, Haiti.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon Philanthropy Chair (2017- 2018)

  • Through various fundraising activities I helped raise $29,000 dollars for five different organizations.
  • Collaborated and managed 40 members of my fraternity to set up and execute nine different philanthropic events for the 2017-18 school year.

Valley Children's adaptive sports program (2017 - 2024)

  • Assisted and instructed 40 children with disabilities in various sports and activities.
  • Helped set up and break down 23 events while working with dozens of other individuals.
  • Work frequently with a basketball team of 24 kids and on many occasions acted as a mentor to members of the team.

Valley Children's Hospital Ronald McDonald House volunteer (2017 - 2019)

  • Helped make and serve breakfast and dinner to the families of the children who were currently admitted to Valley Children's Hospital on 19 occasions.

Tzu Chi mobile health Clinic (2016-2018)

  • Assisted with the set up and breakdown of the mobile clinic.

Hobbies

Swimming

  • Started competitive swimming at 8 years old and continued throughout high school.
  • Recently found I enjoy open water swimming and have participated in 5 events such as the Island-To-Island swim in the San Francisco Bay.

Auto mechanics

  • First started working on cars when I rebuilt the engine on my '98 mustang when I was 16.
  • Have found enjoyment in restoring cars since my first experience and am currently working on rebuilding the engine of a '66 289 Mustang coupe.

Running

  • Learned to love running through participating in track and field since elementary school.
  • I frequently run every week for exercise and regularly participate in 5ks, half marathons and full marathons and am currently training for the Two Cities half marathon in Fresno, CA this fall.

Hiking

  • Started hiking in college as a fun activity to do with friends and loved the feeling of traveling to places that many people do not get to experience.
  • My favorite trail is the trail to Emerald Lake in the Sequoia National Park and have made the trek to this spot at least 20 times.
