Experienced professional with a strong background in customer service and inventory management. Transformed a Papa John’s store from the lowest-ranked in the franchise to one of its top performers by emphasizing teamwork and continuous improvement. Recognized at Walmart for engaging with customers and efficiently managing inventory. Skilled in upselling and fostering a positive workplace culture. Free time is spent creating 3D graphics in Blender and working on designs in Photoshop.
At Walmart I primarily worked in the lawn and garden/seasonal department but my flexibility and willingness to support the team opened opportunities around the store. I additionally unloaded trucks and performed administrative tasks around the store, leading to a position as receiver for the facility and finally the meat department where I competently filled the role of a 25 year veteran who had moved from the department due to chronic illness.
My duties around the store included:
- Stocking
- Inventory management, perishable and non-perishable. Receiving and documenting inventory from corporate distribution centers and vendors and properly disposing of expired products in accordance with company policy
- "Setting Mods"(preparing shelves and displays for new, cycled, or seasonal inventory and involvement in a major remodel)
- Cashiering
- Personal Shopper for online orders
- Assisting customers with any inventory-based questions and product location
- Truck unloading
- Routine maintenance in the garden dept and watering plants
During my time at Walmart I was recognized with two positive-feedback reviews from customers; an extremely rare occurrence as I was told.
- Resolved customer complaints and issues and offered thoughtful solutions to maintain customer satisfaction as well as order-taking and planning
- Enforced company policies and regulations with employees
- Prepared shift summary reports for the store manager and communicated weekly on goals and progress with the owner(franchise) and implemented winning strategies to resolve any areas of concern
- Trained new employees and delegated daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Managed shift operations, supplied resources and monitored team performance to keep business profitable and running smoothly in accordance with company policy
- Retained a solid crew through building a workplace culture of excellence
During my time at Papa John's, the store went from being the lowest-ranked in the franchise by almost all metrics to consistently being the most successful, largely due to my commitment to constant improvement (a core value of Papa John's that has always stuck with me), my focus on crew retention through flawless rapport and positive culture, and my adherence to company policies and action plans.
