Gladys Cabrera

I help students with different learning needs by providing extra support in the classroom. I create personalized plans to help each student succeed, teach in ways that match how the student learns best, and work with other teachers and parents to make sure the students get the help they need. I also help manage behavior, check in on how students are doing, and makes sure all students have a chance to participate in class activities.

I helped students and teachers find books and resources for learning. I taught students how to use the library, research effectively, and find reliable information. I also help students develop good reading habits, run reading programs, and organize the library so that everyone can easily access materials. Additionally, I worked with teachers to select books and resources that fit classroom lessons and encourage a love of reading throughout the school.

Socio-Emotional Learning:

I helped students develop important life skills like managing emotions, building positive relationships, making responsible decisions, and handling social situations. I taught lessons that focus on understanding feelings, empathy, self-regulation, and how to communicate effectively with others. I created a safe and supportive environment where students can learn how to deal with stress, resolve conflicts, and work together as a team. My goal was to help students build emotional intelligence, which supports their overall well-being and success in school and life.

I worked with students who need extra support, often in small groups or one-on-one. I help students with learning disabilities, academic struggles, or other challenges by providing individualized instruction and adapting lessons to meet each student's needs. I worked with students on subjects like reading, math, or writing, offering strategies and tools to help them understand the material better. I collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure the student receives the right accommodations and support, like extra time on assignments or modified tasks, to help them succeed in the regular classroom setting.
