Clinical Experience at Midwestern University

  • Participated in the evaluation and treatment of the pediatric and geriatric population with alternative and augmentative communication needs, aphasia, apraxia of speech, articulation, phonological disorders, tongue thrust, voice disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and expressive and receptive language disorders.
  • Administered a variety of evaluations that included, Boston Diagnostic Aphasia Examination for Adults (BDAE), Voice Evaluation, and Apraxia Battery of Speech, and multiple hearing screenings to pediatric clients.
  • Participated in aphasia groups that supported clients with their communication skills and overall conversational interactions with peers.
  • Communicated effectively with supervisors consistently to further improve intervention strategies in order to document appropriate lesson plans, treatment plans, and progress reports through Allscripts, Calipso, and EPIC.
  • Involved in a practicum opportunity at a middle school, which entailed providing treatment that focused on articulation, deficits in language, pragmatics, and fluency.
