Serving those in need in the OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. The Phlebotomy Educators of OSF trained me to locate veins in patients to draw lab blood tests on the 3rd shift in a timely and organized manner, along with coordinating with a team and team lead to label and coordinate them throughout the hospital. Also in this job, I worked with EPIC Hyperspace to log blood specimens as well as identify what specimens were needed from my patients. Finally, my patient engagement in this facility has been one of the best things both professionally and for self-fulfillment. Though I have to frequently wake patients in the middle of the night, I have always found that my patients have good reactions to our interactions and professional manner.
