BRITTNEY MURRAY

Oblong

Summary

I believe that education is the foundation to every child’s success. As a teacher, it is my job to make sure that I motivate, encourage, and inspire every child to want to succeed and learn. I also want to provide a safe place for them to feel comfortable and welcomed. I will provide the students with a stimulating learning environment, allow them to express their own individual opinions, and to create confidence within themselves to realize their full potential.

Through my teaching experience thus far, I am adept in classroom instruction, instructional planning, student relationships, and parent-teacher relationships. I have learned over the years that students will retain the content I am teaching more if the students and I have a relationship, they are able to have hands on manipulatives, and are able to bring their own learning styles to the lessons. My passion for teaching and love for children has allowed me to do this and make positive influences in the children’s lives that I have taught.

Mentor

I spent a year mentor a new teacher.  I made sure to inform her of the school policies, daily procedures, emergency procedures, and scheduling.  I also collaborated with her on lesson planning and parent-teacher communication.  The most important thing I did as her mentor was to simply just be there for her, as a sounding board, emotional support, and friend.
