Senior Technician I

  • Utilizes technical experience and electrical drawings to troubleshoot faults with 5 MW power tube systems and 10 MW klystron power amplifier systems and replaces damaged parts.
  • Assembles circuits from electrical schematics.
  • Assists in the design of new circuits.
  • Assembles, tests, and conditions the 200 KW, and 5 MW power tubes used by the linear accelerator.
  • Troubleshoot and repair control modules for 5 MW and 10 MW systems.
  • Developed and implemented procedure to rebuild 4 KW power tube output cavities and input sockets.
  • Designed ion pump control rack for spare 5 MW power tubes, prepared supporting documentation, and reviewed with staff to ensure understanding of operation.
  • Updates lock out/tag out procedures as needed.

  • Monitors power level and temperature of 5 MW power tubes and power levels of the 5 MW modulator, adding this information to databases.
