  • In 2018, I established the branch within the IDF and spearheaded a team dedicated to addressing our organization's challenges. Our mission involved creating a network capable of conceiving and implementing solutions. This entailed securing funding to transform innovative ideas into impactful game changers in military medicine. We facilitated collaborations with cutting-edge startups, technology giants, fellow medical entities, and government entities. Simultaneously, we cultivated an internal community of innovators and problem-solvers, ensuring the continuous advancement of our product line.
  • Over a span of 3 years, we successfully spearheaded over 20 open innovation projects and cultivated collaborative partnerships with a range of industry companies and startups and successfully raised ~$5M to support project development including:
  • Conceiving, overseeing, and executing novel AR-based systems (TraumaVR ® , Symbionix © , Israel).
  • Planning, project management, and implementation of innovative AI solutions for medical evacuation (MEDEVAC, UniqueAI, Israel).
  • Pioneered the IDF Medical Corps data and information center for COVID-19. Led a diverse team of intelligence officers, data scientists, clinicians, and IT experts, leveraging data science tools to provide insights for data-driven policymaking.
  • Under the leadership of the innovation branch, we initiated the inaugural 'MedDefense' competition, helmed by the Surgeon General. This event attracted more than 20 industry proposals that were aligned with our challenges.
  • We developed a tailored MBA program that specifically incorporated our military academy medical students, equipping them with the necessary tools to sustain this momentum into the future.
  • Productive collaborations were established with academic institutions, encompassing both local partners such as TAU, HUJI, BGU, and others, as well as esteemed international collaborators like BME at Johns Hopkins.

Produced and collaborated on more than 50 peer-reviewed research papers featured in esteemed journals, including The Lancet, Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, JACC, Circulation: Heart Failure, Plos One, Clinical Microbiology and Infection, and others. These publications have collectively garnered over 2000 citations, reflecting an H-index of 17 and an i10-index of 19.

Volunteer experience

2022 Head of the emergency department in the Israeli field hospital in Ukraine ('Shining Star'). Took the lead in assembling and designing a field emergency department that was deployed in the village of Mostycka, Lviv Oblask, Ukraine, soon after the outbreak of the war. As head of the unit, I was responsible for triage and supervised a diverse team of ten nurses, physicians, and paramedics from eight different hospitals. Operating under extreme war conditions, the hospital provided essential medical care to thousands of local residents for almost two months.

2021 Head of Special medical delegation to Jordan. At the COVID-19 outbreak peak in Jordan, led medical experts and nurses. Guided local teams in isolated COVID-19 wards, conducted simulations, and consulted ICU patients in Amman hospitals.

2022 Optimizing AED distribution to prevent sudden cardiac deaths. I launched a national collaborative effort through "Maoz". This initiative united the Ministry of Health, national EMS organization (MDA), private entrepreneurs, and local authorities to enhance public AED awareness and availability. More than 320 new AEDs were added and documented in the Arab community of Kfar Yasif and in the city Rishon Lezion.
