Learned to sew in high school, following patterns, cutting fabric and finishing projects.   Taught myself to knit and crochet when in my 30's by reading a book and lots of practice.  After retiring, I renewed interest in these projects, continuing to read and decipher patterns, improve skills, increase knowledge and willingness to work with a variety of yarn, thread, etc.
