Medal Of Valor

During the search for a missing possible suicidal subject I encountered the subject in a darkened back yard of a residence pointing 2 pistols at my partner who was seeking cover at the time.  Immediately called for a supervisor, shield, and other officers to respond to the scene.  A supervisor arrived on scene with a shield and joined my partner who was behind cover and attempted to get the subject to drop his 2 firearms with negative results.  I was positioned in a darkened corner of the yard and saw that the armed subject had focused all of his attention on the officers behind the shield.  I broke from cover, closed the distance, and subsequently tackled the subject to the ground as he still held the pistols.  I was able to gain control of the subject and with the assistance of other officers, placed the subject into custody without injury to himself or officers.
