
Dynamic Employment Security Program Representative with a goal-oriented mindset, skilled in application processing and effective time management. Proven track record at the Illinois Department of Employment Security in enhancing service efficiency and resolving complex unemployment issues, while successfully supporting workforce development initiatives within the community.
Under general direction, for an assigned area, performs more complex employment service and job placement functions and unemployment insurance benefit entitlement resolutions under provision of Unemployment Insurance, Wagner-Peyser and Workforce Investment legislation in compliance with Federal and State statutory provisions, rules, regulations and requirements; determines client Unemployment Insurance and/or Wagner-Peyser related needs and provides recommendations to address employment and unemployment related issues; loads and extracts data using automated systems; maintains activity records and prepares reports; makes service efficiency assessments and recommendations. As directed, travels to worksites in the service delivery area to perform assigned duties. Performs more complex employment service and job placement functions and unemployment insurance benefit entitlement resolutions under provision of Unemployment Insurance, Wagner-Peyser and Workforce Investment legislation in compliance with Federal and State statutory provisions, rules, regulations and requirements Conducts reconsidered determinations and accepts appeals Interviews job seekers, taking or updating work history Determines client Unemployment Insurance and/or Wagner-Peyser related needs and provides recommendations to address employment and unemployment related issues, including but not limited to referring employers to representative from Business Services, identifying barriers to employment and providing information on available training and education programs Establishes and maintains activity records and reports Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Also currently working in RESEA program. Trained in new pilot to coordinate outreach efforts to promote workforce development initiatives within the community.
Conducts screening for application eligibility, provides general information of available programs to applicants. Reviews applications to ensure all questions are answered and has proper signature, sets appointment times for the applicant to return, issues pamphlets, registers, scans, uploads all applications and documents into system and withdraws applications. Prepares files protecting customer's confidential information, performs office receptionist duties, answers inquiries and/or directs person to professional staff, enters information into the eligibility systems. Utilizes on the On-Line Reception System, logs in every person that enters the office and notifies casework staff of each client waiting to see them. Searches customers in eligibility systems forwarding to correct que. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Identifies and sorts documents coming into the FCRC. Determines documents destination, scans and uploads to eligibility system ensuring all clearance are included with all applications for each Department Program.
