
I am a highly dedicated and dependable worker with over fifteen years in the areas of road work, utility work, commercial, residential and underwater construction. I possess a wide array of knowledge, understanding and proficiency in the use of small hand tools up to the use of heavy machinery for various uses. I am a very conscientious worker with a proven safety record throughout my career. I learn very quickly and am a highly motivated individual who is equally comfortable working as an individual or as part of a team. I work well under time sensitive circumstances and strive to complete projects/assigned tasks on time and within budget.
At my current role, I assist with all day today plant work. This includes daily numbers for EPA regulations, regular plant mechanical upkeep, all plant construction, including new concrete pads for equipment. Assist with all emergency tasks that arise. Repair roads and sidewalks after breaking out of concrete. Packing underlayment, grading, concrete forms, tampers of various types, and assisting with the Public Works Department with the pouring of concrete and asphalt patching. The use of chemicals in water treatment is done daily, a charted and reported according to all Illinois EPA guidelines. I also work closely with the City’s wastewater department and assist them with all sewer jetting and repairs. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
At American Water my primary role was Distribution Technician. This included water main break repairs in roads and easements. Trenching to install new water mains, and customer services. Ensuring all hydrants and valves in the system were in good working order. Assist with breaking and removal of concrete roads and sidewalks. The use of jackhammers, skid steers, excavators, generators, trailers, hand tools of all kinds, hydraulic units, trench boxes, pumps and grinders was a common, and often daily occurrence. Working in traffic, in all conditions, including hazardous and extreme weather, day or night was very common. I constantly worked with the public to explain situations. I worked to clean up after jobs were completed, such as sweeping, backfilling, grading, removing debris, and replacing materials that were removed to complete the task.
Primary role was the cutting and drilling of concrete. Applications include but are not limited to: cutting roads and floors for safe and clean removal, drilling holes into water mains and manholes, bridge work, heavydemolition work, new construction, foundations, forms, concrete walls, etc. I have worked closely with all trades, to ensure the correct, safe, and efficient outcome of various projects. Use of generators and compressors, pumps, engines both diesel and gasoline, machinery (heavy and light), hydraulic machines, electrical engines, ground penetrating radar, hand tools of all kinds, trailers, jackhammers, using hand signals to communicate with cranes, excavators, and backhoes, and more. The placement of work signs, barricades, and various traffic control devices was a daily occurrence. Often times I would assist with the concrete pour back division of the company. This included laying of wire mesh, stripping of concrete forms, mixing concrete for the finishers, handing them tools, and cleaning all tools and equipment after a job was completed or as needed. This role often required me to build and work off scaffolding, stages, and lifts at heights of varying degrees. Commonly I would work on remodels of older buildings containing asbestos. I understand, and respect, the need for careful abatement of asbestos. Working as primarily the soul representative of Cobra on most tasks, I was responsible for customer relations, time management, safety, control devices, planning and coordination and execution.
I was a general laborer with Wingle Construction (through the laborer's hall). This included delivery of materials to multiple job sites by use of trucks, trailers, skid steers, forklifts, lulls and more. Safe disposal of debris to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Organized the company shop so that others could quickly and efficiently retrieve/unload tools and materials. I also ensured that all tools and mobile work platforms were in safe working order.
Job duties/ job description is the same as above, however the Penhall is a globally sized company. I worked very closely with utility contractors, road maintenance and construction, water lines, and construction and demolition of commercial buildings. While at Penhall, I was appointed to the company's national employee training council and helped to implement new training techniques and safety protocols and requirements as well as train new employees from different locations and shops from around the Midwest region of America.
All aspects of underwater construction. This includes but is not limited to welding and torching, heavy and light rigging, hydraulic and pneumatic tools both in and out of the water, concrete pumping, water treatment pipe-fitting, installation and repair, ship and dam maintenance, non-destructive testing, and bridge maintenance, construction, and demolition. The use of extremely heavy machinery such as heavy loaders, bulldozers, and super wenches was a common necessity. I worked in a variety of nuclear power plants performing any number of tasks such as pipe and valve maintenance, cleaning, applying protective coatings and more. This was an extremely unique work experience as it allowed me an opportunity to work all around the United States at an early age and meet people from all over the world. The experiences of particular job taught me to be extremely managerial with my time, and the time of others, for the sake of safety and project progression. Communication and dependability are of the highest importance in this field.
